1st Birthday Party
I wanted to keep our babies first birthday party simple. I did minimal decorations and the few that I had, I made myself.
First I bought this Hearth and Hand from Magnolia Wreath at Target, I made a little paper flower as well as a simple gold glitter "one"

This is such a great versatile wreath, you can add any seasonal decor to it and use it all year long. For Christmas I was thinking about adding a pop of red florals and maybe a snowman or pine cones in there as well, I haven't decided yet.
Above the mantel I added this simple photo board with all of Harlyn's monthly pictures that we take in her rocking chair. It was a cool little project to see how much she had grown from month to month. With the help of ChatBooks, I was able to order cute little 4x4 prints. I also created this little banner with more paper flowers and gold letters.

In our entryway I used this little letter board I picked up from Joann's Craft Store, I figured I could use this all year round with different sayings. Currently I have it updated to Christmas

For Harlyn's birthday we had a taco vendor come out and cook up some tasty grub for everyone and thankfully it was a nice clear day, unlike the downpour it was the day she was actually born. Giant Jenga was set up in the backyard as well as a game of cornhole. Overall we had about 50 people come over to celebrate Harlyn's first birthday as well as check out our new digs.
We had simple white cupcakes with white frosting and gold glitter dusting and the same for her smash cake

I also tried my hand in a little bit of painting which I am terrible at but we have a paper scroll in our kitchen/hallway area and I wanted to make a guest book for Harlyn to look at when she was older so I painted some flowers and did what I could to make it semi cute. Her cousin Deegan wanted to be the first to sign so he wrote is name in the middle and drew some water because he loves sharks and pirates haha

We had such a great time and are totally going to wait to do it again. Parties and large gatherings are not my thing, plus hosting tends to pull you away from all of the fun.
Until next time.
